，但是有以下幾點不同使此遊戲變得很有趣：

在高/低遊戲中，彩池中的賭注由持有一手高牌和低牌的人平分，相同的牌被用來判別是高牌還是低牌。

一手牌有可能成為一手高牌也有可能成為一手低牌，那麼將會贏得一半的賭注。經常出現的例子是”車輪”，由A2345組成。

如果沒有可以被認定的低牌，那麼一手高牌將會贏得整個彩池的賭注。

分彩池的時候，一手高牌分得多餘的奇數籌碼。

跟其他遊戲的規則相反，可以贏的一手低牌包含9以下的撲克牌。因為在翻牌遊戲中，翻牌要包含3張8或8以下的牌。

為了湊得一手低牌而贏得一半的賭注，這手低牌必須是8, 7, 6, 5, 4或更低。這就是遊戲被稱做8 或更好或者是奧瑪哈8。

有意思的是本遊戲中，一手低牌包括順子和同花。而且你還可以使用不同的牌或相同的牌組成一手高牌或低牌。分罐的時候，剩餘的單只籌碼歸高手牌所有。有些賭場會玩9-low低手牌，但不是很受歡迎。

奧瑪哈高/低還可以被稱做: "Omaha Hi-Lo", "Omaha hi/lo", "Omaha high/low", "Omaha high-low".
